SKIHI Annual Benefit Golf Tournament
|
In October
of 2008, SKIHI hosted a golf tournament that raised $68,000,
making it the most successful to date. The beneficiaries
of the 2008 tournament are ROPARD in Detroit, Michigan, The
Child Study Center in Fort Worth, and Cook Children's Medical
Center in Fort Worth.
The continuous
support from customers, colleagues and friends of SKIHI is
the key factor that contagiously makes this golf tournament
a tremendous success. The driving force behind these
tournaments is due to the inspiration of Kelsi Skipper.
Kelsi is the granddaughter of Owner and President of SKIHI
Enterprises, LTD, Richard Skipper. Kelsi was born
prematurely and diagnosed with ROP (detached retinas).
Without the dedication from Cook Children's, ROPARD, and The
Child Study Center, Kelsi would not be the bright and
energetic young lady that she is today. This golf
tournament was organized six years ago in an effort to help
these hospitals and organizations continue their various
programs to benefit children like Kelsi.
Each year, the tournament's organizers hand deliver checks
to each organization and see first hand the benefits of its
success. This year Cook Children's Hospital will be
using the donated funds to purchase a state of the art
oxygen monitoring machine that will measure and record the
oxygen levels in newborns. With this piece of
equipment, they hope to decrease the number of ROP cases in
their NICU Facility. ROPARD will use our donation to
continue funding their research for a cure of ROP.
This year, the SKIHI Enterprises Charitable Foundation has
been formed as a means of continuing the charitable
donations to all of these worthy institutions.
On October 12, 2009, SKIHI will be hosting its 7th Annual
Benefit Golf Tournament at Canyon West Golf Club in
Weatherford, Texas, benefiting Cook Children's Medical
Center, ROPARD, and The Child Study Center.
